SCOM 2012 Alert: DNS Client Service Stopped

In case you keep receiving notifications from your SCOM 2012 Server that state “The DNS client service on server *** has stopped running” you can follow these two steps:

1)Open Registry Editor and navigate to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Dnscache\Parameters.
2)Edit or create the Registry DWORD value “IdleTimeOut” and set it to “ffffffff” (hex).
